RVSD Water System Improvement Projects

Our American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) projects as we know folks have a lot of questions. Our Madison Well Projects had a setback this summer of approximately 2.5 months due to a drill stem breaking off at approximately 3000 feet. After some time, the stem was retrieved and they are back to drilling. We are currently at a depth of 3880 feet. The drill team drilled into a fracture that is between the Madison and Minnelusa aquifers that was sealed. The casing was set to 3,880 feet and all that is remaining to drill is another 300 feet into the production zone of the Madison Aquifer.
Our 2-million-gallon storage reservoir is on track for completion in April 2025 and it has been a fun process to watch take shape.
The 12” watermain to Box Elder for emergency backup and redundancy between the two regional entities was quickly completed and ready for utilization thanks to the dedication of the watermain crew.
